My husband got me direct tv aurora for my birthday and man, I’ve been spending a lot of time watching TV recently. I love to just veg out on the couch with a glass of red wine and the Travel Channel after a long day at work and although Jim’s not a huge TV fan I know he’s really starting to like relaxing that way, too. This time of year is my favorite because there are always tons of Holiday movies on which I just love to relive year after year. I like Love Actually and then I also really like Serendipity – I know Jim doesn’t prefer any of these really girly shows but you know, I guess he watches them to make me happy because he’s such a sweet man! I think the holidays are just so cozy and I can’t imagine a better time of year to snuggle up with cocoa or wine, like I said, and really just take a load off and relax. Who can argue with that?

Too Much Pain Killers

A friend of mine often complains that she gets a Chronic headache. Although they are caused by different reasons—e.g. forgetting to drink coffee in the morning, eyestrain, sun’s glare, allergic rhinitis, etc.

To numb the pain, she has to take pain killers because otherwise, she could not function in her daily activities. Sometimes the pain is so bad that aside from taking a pill, she has to sleep and even have somebody massage her head!

Well, there are just some people who are sensitive and I sure am thankful that I am not like this. It seems that my threshold for pain is very high!

Skilled with Toys

There are people who play with toys but there are really some exceptional few who are good at playing them.

In a local talent show, the first grand champion was named “Yoyo Trickster” because the boy was really adept at handling the toy. You would think that he lives in a yoyofactory for that matter. He bested hundreds of contestants with different talents and skills to emerge as the winner.

Then there is this guy who is very good with hoola hoops. These guys are not just playing—they are performers in every sense of the word! It is just great that they were given opportunities like the talent show to display their skills.

Road Trip Spoiler

Many people are going on vacations during the Christmas break. Sometimes, it is not really a long vacation but just an overnight stay in an out of town resort or a road trip to another city. The break or the change of scenery is more important than the destination.

But when you leave in your car for this purpose, make sure that everything is working fine. Also, have the number of a breakdown service handy. Have your mobile phone fully charged, too. That way, you can call for help when there is an emergency and you are in the middle of nowhere.

Be prepared because sometimes, no matter how we check out stuff before we leave, things just happen.

A Good Business in a Festival Country

The Philippines is such a festive country because it celebrates so many festivals. We have hundreds of cities and municipalities all of the country and each one boast of a unique festival that celebrates their local products and culture.

But one thing is common among these festivals, they have mar di grass or street dancing. With that, you will find that having a sound system business in this country because so many sound systems with outdoor wireless speakers are being rented whenever there is a festival going on.

And these street dancing events are not just limited to one-day fun. Sometimes, a festival can last for a whole week and the sound system just stays on the streets to maintain the festive atmosphere. So it is really good business.

Help when Driving

Keeping up with things this month almost made me forget to renew our membership for our vehicle’s emergency road service.
